Delmar House Fire Damage Estimated At $150,000

The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a fire that heavily damaged a structure in Delmar, Delaware on Wednesday according to Chief Deputy State Fire Marshal John Galaska.

Galaska said the incident, reported shortly after 08:00 A.M., occurred in the 14000 block of Line Road Delmar, Delaware. The Delmar Fire Department arrived on the scene and found smoke and flames coming from a single-family dwelling structure. The home was occupied at the time of the fire and the occupant was able to escape without injury. Mutual aid fire companies assisted at the scene as well.

State fire investigators were called to the scene and performed an investigation to determine the origin and cause. The fire was determined to have originated in the garage area of the home and the cause is still currently under investigation. There were no reported injuries. Damage is estimated at $150,000.00.
