Wilmington– The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit has arrested Marvin Dejesus-Santiago, 30, of Wilmington, for Murder 1st Degree and related charges from an incident in late August, according to Public Information Officer, Senior Corporal Jason Hatchell.
Hatchell said the incident was reported at approximately 6:14 a.m., Thursday, August 26, 2021, when troopers responded to the Sunoco gas station located at 1950 Maryland Avenue in Wilmington, for a report of a subject shot. Upon their arrival, a 34-year-old male victim, identified as Juan Alicea-Rodriguez was located outside the front of the convenience store with apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The investigation determined two unknown males approached the victim in front of the convenience store and opened fire said Hatchell.

Through investigative means, homicide detectives identified one of the suspects as Marvin Dejesus-Santiago Hatchell said Monday. DeJesus has been housed at the Violation of Probation Center at Sussex Correctional Institution, since November 8, 2021. He was indicted by a grand jury on December 20, 2021, and on December 31, 2021, he was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court1. He remains in the custody of the Department of Corrections on $1,086,000 cash bond.
