Police: One Suspect Arrested, Police Looking For Another

Harrington Police have arrested one person and is seeking a second in connection with alleged forgery and related charges.

Harrington Police said they arrested Rebecca Lankford 23, of Harrington and are seeking the whereabouts of Jaimere S. Harrison 21, of Dover.

On Tuesday, police responded to the WSFS Bank in the first block of Commerce Street in Harrington for a report of a female inside the bank attempting to cash a fraudulent check, according to police.

Officials said responding officers identified Lankford as the female inside the bank. She was taken into custody without incident.

Police said during the course of the investigation they determined that Lankford received the fraudulent check from Harrison and then attempted to cash it. Officials added that Lankford was then going to give some of the stolen money to Harrison.

Lankford was transported back to the Harrington Police Department for processing. She was charged with Attempted Theft $1,500 or greater (Felony), Forgery 2nd Degree (Felony), Conspiracy Second Degree (Felony), and Receiving Stolen Property. She was arraigned via video phone at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on her Own Recognizance.

Police said active warrants are on file for Harrison for Forgery and related charges.
