Update: Police Release Few Details In Pike Creek Double Shooting

New Castle County Police are investigating a double shooting that occurred  Sunday evening.

Police said at approximately 9:00 p.m., patrol officers were dispatched to the unit block of Independence Hall in the community of Foxwood Apartments for the report of a shooting that had just occurred.

When the officers arrived, they located two victims.  Both victims, a 23-year-old man, and a 21-year-old woman were found to have suffered from multiple gunshot wounds to their lower extremities.  Both were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Breaking Report

Just after 9:00 Sunday evening rescue crews from Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder, Mill Creek Fire Company, New Castle County Medics, and Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 4 were dispatched to the unit block of Independence Hall in the Foxwood Apartments for reports of a shooting.

Initial reports from the scene indicate that two shooting victims were at that location. The reports also indicated that one patient was transported to a landing zone in the nearby Polly Drummond Shopping Center. That patient was then airlifted by Trooper 4 to the Trauma Center.

A second patient was transported by ground ambulance. Officials have not released details surrounding the patients’ injuries.
