One Trapped When Two Large Trucks Collide In Ellendale Wednesday Morning

Just after 8:30, Wednesday morning rescue crews responded to 16979 Beach Highway in Ellendale, the area of the Royal Farms, for reports of a motor vehicle accident involving a truck into a utility pole.

While en route crews were told that a box truck had struck a utility pole and the cab was ripped open. First arriving confirmed the caller’s report and advised that they had at one patient trapped.

As crews assessed the scene they learned that a second semi-truck was involved in the accident. That truck had come to a stop a short distance away from point of impact.

After about 20 minutes Command reported that the patient had been extricated from the truck. The patient was transported to Bayhelth by ambulance with Sussex County Medics onboard.
