Shots Fired At Woman During Altercation In New Castle

Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at a New Castle area motel Friday afternoon, according to Public Information Officer, Senior Corporal Jason Hatchell.

Hatchell said on Friday, March 18, 2022, at approximately 3:02 p.m., troopers responded to the Superlodge Motel located at 1213 West Ave, New Castle for a shooting incident. The investigation determined a 27-year-old female victim had a verbal altercation with an unknown female inside of her motel room. During the altercation, the suspect displayed a handgun towards the victim which caused her to run out of the room, according to Hatchell. As the victim was fleeing the suspect fired three rounds in the direction of the victim added Hatchell. The victim was not injured and took cover in a nearby motel room. The suspect fled the scene in a dark sedan.

There was no property damaged and there was no one injured during this incident.

The suspect was described as a light skin female approximately 5’5”-5’10” tall, 140-170 lbs., wearing dark clothing and tan work boots.
