Delaware State Police conducting a criminal investigation attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a possible suspect vehicle that fled into Pennsylvania, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Heather Pepper.
Pepper said at approximately 5:56 p.m., on March 7, 2022, Delaware State Police responded to King of Gold, located at 2201 Silverside Road for a reported armed robbery. The unknown suspect entered the business and demanded money while displaying a handgun before fleeing the business. No one was injured during the robbery and an undisclosed amount of money was obtained.
On March 9, 2022, at approximately 4:27 a.m., Delaware State Police responded to Sunoco, located at 3615 Philadelphia PikeĀ in Claymont, for a robbery. During the incident, two male suspects entered the business and demanded money and merchandise while implying they had a weapon. The suspects then fled the business in an unknown direction of travel. No one was injured during the robbery and an undisclosed amount of money and merchandise was obtained.
Earlier on March 9, 2022, at approximately 2:05 p.m., Delaware State Police responded to Acme, located at 2098 Naamans Road in Wilmington, for two male suspects who entered the store and attempted to shoplift. When the suspects were confronted, one of the suspects struck the victim while the other implied he had a weapon before fleeing the area.
As troopers were investigating the series of criminal complaints, a possible suspect vehicle and suspects were observed by troopers. Troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle at which time the vehicle fled into Pennsylvania. At that time, multiple suspects were taken into custody.
