Police: 5th DUI Suspect Arrested In Smyrna, Released On Unsecured Bond

Smyrna Police patrol officers recently arrested a man for his 5th offense DUI as well as drug possession and traffic charges officials said Friday.

Authorities said that on Friday 4/1/22, at 9:50 p.m. an SPD officer on patrol observed a vehicle run a red light, nearly causing a collision on US 13 in the area of Canwit Drive. A traffic stop was conducted, and officers contacted Johnnie Mosley, 63 of Smyrna. A roadside investigation revealed that Mosley was intoxicated, and he was taken into custody according to police. Once back at SPD headquarters, Mosley was additionally found to be in possession of crack cocaine added police. A blood search warrant was obtained for Mosley and he was charged with:

5th offense DUI
Possession of a controlled substance
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Failure to stop at a red light

Mosley was subsequently arraigned via video court in JP #7 where he was released on $5,450 unsecured bond pending a future court hearing.
