School Bus Crash Sends Nine To Hospital Friday Morning

Police are investigating a crash that sent nine people to the hospital on Friday morning.

At 8:20 this morning rescue crews from the Delaware City Company along with mutual aid from several area companies, medics, and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to River Road (Route 9) at the Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks in Delaware City.

Initial reports from the scene indicate that a school bus was involved in an accident at that location. Six children and three adults reportedly received minor injuries as a result of the accident.

All nine patients were transported to an area hospital.

DelDOT reported that the road reopened at around 10:45 Friday morning.

Officials have not said what school district the bus was transporting for.
