Friday The 13th Power Outage Closes Glasgow High School

An early morning power outage has caused officials to close Glasgow High School on Friday.

Firefighters from the Christiana Fire Company responded to the area of Route 896 and Old Baltimore Pike at around 6:15 this morning for reports of an outside fire. Upon arrival crews reported that powerlines were sown and across the roadway.

Just before 9:00, Delmarva Power reported that around sixty customers remained without power in the area.

A notice on the Glasgow High Schools website read as follows:

Glasgow High School will be closed today due to a power outage in the area. The District is working with Delmarva Power regarding a timeline for the outage. However, we expect the school to be open on Monday, May 16. We will provide additional updates as they become available.

STUDENT ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE POSTED VIA SCHOOLOGY.
