Two Mill Creek Firefighters Working Pike Creek House Fire Hospitalized Friday

Just after 9:45, Friday evening firefighters from multiple fire companies responded to the 100 block of Belmont Drive in Wilmington for reports of a structure fire.

While en route crews learned that callers were reporting that a garage was on fire. First arriving crews reported that the garage was fully involved.

As crews work to gain control of the fire Command struck a second alarm which brought additional crews.

We’ll have more regarding the fire when officials release their report.

During the fire, a firefighter outside of the home was found unresponsive and was treated at the scene before being transported by ambulance to CER, according to sources familiar with the incident. A second firefighter was also transported shortly thereafter. Details on the firefighter’s conditions are not known at this time.

We are withholding the identities of the firefighters.
