New Castle County Division of Police have charged Sadir Wright, 18, of New Castle with drug related offenses after a police officer observed a suspicious vehicle in the area of the unit block of Colby Avenue according to Sergeant Tracey Duffy.
Duffy said on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at approximately 10:10 p.m., a New Castle County Division of Police Officer was on proactive patrol in the community of Knollwood when he observed Wright climb over the passenger in a parked vehicle and hide behind the rear passenger seat after observing the officer.
The officer contacted the occupants of the vehicle and detected an odor of burnt marijuana according to Duffy. Upon opening the rear door, the officer observed a clear plastic bag containing suspected heroin.
Upon further investigation, the bag contained 82 glassine bags of heroin (.574 grams), 18.77 grams of methamphetamine, and 4.45 grams of crack cocaine said Duffy.
Sadir Wright was charged with possession of a controlled substance Tier 3 quantity, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. He was arraigned at JP Court 11 and remanded to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $20,400 cash bail.
