Maryland State Police have arrested and charged a 45-year-old Port Deposit man after a Maryland State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigation developed evidence supporting charges of possession of child pornography police said Thursday.
On Wednesday, troopers from the Maryland State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force began an investigation after Brian Wilde’s probation officer reported that he was in possession of child pornography. Wilde had previously been convicted of child pornography charges officials said.
At approximately 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, troopers arrested Wilde at his residence. Officials said a preliminary forensic review of his electronic devices seized at the residence revealed multiple child pornography files.
Wilde is charged with five counts of possession of child pornography. He is being held at the Cecil County Detention Center pending an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.
