Two Charged In Connection With The Death Of 19-Year-Old

A Wilmington Police investigation has resulted in arrests in connection with a September 14 murder officials said Saturday.

Police said on September 14 at approximately 5:38 p.m., police responded to the 900 block of North Spruce Street in response to a shooting that had occurred. Police located a male gunshot victim, identified as 19-year-old Za’Quan Blackwell, of Chester, Pennsylvania, who succumbed to his injuries.

The case was assigned to Detective Kevin Nolan of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Nolan identified 19-year-old Ah’kee Flonnory and 18-year-old Armani Rogers as suspects according to police. Warrants were secured for both Flonnory and Rogers who were taken into custody without incident.

Flonnory was charged with the following offenses:
Murder 1st Degree
Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony
Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
Endangering the Welfare of a Child
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $1,250,000 cash-only bail.

Rogers was charged with the following offenses:
Assault 2nd Degree
Endangering the Welfare of a Child
She was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $11,000 cash-only bail.

Officials did not say why the pair was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
