Happening Now: Firefighters Battling Structure Fire In Wilmington, Partial Collapse

Just after 6:40 Wilmington Firefighters were dispatched to the 2200 block of N Market Street in Wilmington for reports of a structure fire.

Upon arrival, crews reported fire through the roof. Follow-up reports heavy fire showing from the second-floor rear.

Command ordered an exterior attack to try and get the fire under control prior to making entry.

Ten minutes into the incident Command requested additional units to respond to the scene.

At 6:53 Command once again asked for additional units to respond reporting

At 6:57 Command ordered firefighters away from the building after crews reported that the third floor had collapsed.

Crews are fighting the fire from a defensive posture.

Crews have reported that the fire has moved into an adjacent building.
