Woman Trapped After Accident In Serious Condition

On Saturday at approximately 6:20 pm, New Castle County Paramedics, Mill Creek Fire Company, Cranston Heights Fire Company, and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to the area of Limestone Road and Greenwood Drive for a motor vehicle collision with reported entrapment.

New Castle County Paramedics Senior Sergeant Abigail Haas said upon arrival, medics found a 79-year-old female patient trapped in her vehicle, in the care of Mill Creek Fire Company EMTs. The patient remained trapped in her vehicle for over 15 minutes while rescue personnel worked to extricate her.

The patient suffered minor injuries to her extremities with suspected internal injuries. She was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and was transported to Christiana Hospital via Mill Creek Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in serious condition at the time of transport.

Delaware State Police is investigating the incident.
