At 9:40 Tuesday evening rescue crews were dispatched to Route 1 SB north of Wrangle Hill Road for reports of a pedestrian struck.
Arriving crews found a woman lying in the roadway with serious injuries. Trooper 4, also alerted to the accident, landed at the scene for transport.
The woman was airlifted to the trauma center in serious condition.
