Crews Continue Repairs To Downed Electrical Lines In Harrington

Just after 2:30 Friday morning crews from the Harrington Fire Company responded to the 16000 block of South DuPont Highway, in the area of the Valero, for reports of wires down.

Upon arrival, crews reported wires down across the roadway and closed DuPont Highway in both directions. Shortly after arrival, crews reported that a vehicle had rolled over and that one patient was in the car. The patient was removed from the vehicle, however, crews could not search the vehicle due to the downed live wires.

Once power was cut to the lines crews searched the vehicle and the surrounding area but did not find any other patients. The condition of the one patient that was removed from the vehicle is not known.

Crews were called to the scene to make repairs to the downed wires and as of 1:45 pm are still on scene. One lane of southbound and both lanes of northbound DuPont Highway have been opened.
