Delivery Driver Robbed At Gunpoint In Pike Creek

The Delaware State Police are investigating the armed robbery of a delivery truck driver that occurred yesterday evening in Wilmington.

Officials said on March 20, 2023, at approximately 6:54 p.m., a 40-year-old truck driver parked his delivery truck behind the Wawa located at 4555 New Linden Hill Road and began unloading merchandise into the store.

While the victim was in the store, one unknown male suspect entered the back of the truck and began stealing numerous cases of cigarettes while a second unknown male loaded the stolen items into a dark sedan. When the driver walked back outside, the second suspect pointed a handgun at the driver and told him to back away officials said. The driver complied, and the suspects fled the area.

The truck driver was not harmed.
