Happening Now: School Activities Cancelled Due To Nearby Police Investigation In Felton

Delaware State Police are currently conducting a criminal investigation in the 200 block of Reeves Crossing Road in Felton.

FSU is told that police officers were on scene looking near the road along with upset residents. An ambulance called to the scene has blocked the road.

The Lake Forest School District issues the following statement:

“Lake Forest Schools: Good afternoon Spartan families! This is your Superintendent Dr. Lucas. I am reaching out to let you know that due to a serious incident which occurred off campus, the Delaware State Police have asked us to cease all outdoor activities for today. Students have not been in any danger, are safe, and have been brought into the high school out of an abundance of caution. Students are free to go home and all afternoon activities are now cancelled. The meeting scheduled for the European field trip is also cancelled.”

Troopers said as a result, there is an increased police presence in the area. Reeves Crossing Road between Route 13 and Little Mastens Corner Road is closed until further notice. This investigation is in the early stages and police are advising to avoid the area. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.

This is a developing story.
