The Delaware State Police have charged 53-year-old Robert Franks for the murder of his wife Cynthia Moss-Franks, which occurred in February. Franks had been awaiting extradition to Delaware from Pennsylvania.
Officials said on February 17, 2023, detectives from the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit began investigating the murder of Cynthia Moss-Franks, which occurred at her residence on Champions Drive in Bridgeville. Through investigative measures, detectives identified her husband Robert Franks as the suspect polioce said. On February 19, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Franks, charging him with Murder First Degree. With assistance from Pennsylvania State Police Troop K and the Philadelphia Police Department, detectives took Franks into custody on February 20 in the 2400 block of Dickinson Street in Philadelphia.
On March 9, 2023, Franks was transported from Philadelphia to Troop 2 by state detectives from the Department of Justice Extradition Unit. Franks was charged with Murder First Degree and arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2. He was then committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $5,000,000 cash bond.
After Franks’ arrest police said that they located and recovered Moss-Franks’ silver 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS that was missing from her home. The car was found unoccupied in Philadelphia by the Philadelphia Police Department.
