Police: Hit-And-Run Driver Sought, 8-Year-Old Hospitalized

On Thursday (3/2) at approximately 6:50 p.m., New Castle County Police were called to the area of Cardiff Way in the community of St. Andrews Addition Townhouses for the report of a hit-and-run collision involving a juvenile pedestrian police said.

Officers arrived on scene and learned an 8-year-old male child had been struck.  He was initially transported to the Christiana Medical Center and then later transferred to A.I. DuPont Children’s Hospital.  He is currently listed in stable condition.

The investigation showed the striking vehicle has been described as a black sport-style sedan with projector-style headlights.  As a result of the collision, the vehicle is now missing a headlight and a windshield wiper.
