Teens Hospitalized After Crashing Into Utility Pole Late Saturday

At approximately 10:24 p.m. the New Castle County Paramedics and surrounding fire companies were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision on Old State Road in the area of Taylors Bridge Road.

Senior Sergeant Abigail Haas said units arrived on scene to find four patients following a single-vehicle collision in which a sedan at struck a utility pole after leaving the roadway.

Haas said a 14-year-old female passenger was treated by paramedics for a head injury and transported on board an Odessa Fire Company ambulance. A 16-year-old passenger was treated for a head injury and transported by Townsend Fire Company. Both patients were transported to Christiana Hospital in Stanton in stable condition.

The 16-year-old male driver and another 16-year-old passenger were treated on scene by EMS but refused transport.

Delaware State Police is investigating the collision.
