Just In: Rider Escapes Major Injuries In Fiery Crash Tuesday

Just after 3:10 Tuesday afternoon rescue crews responded to Red Lion Road at Summit Point Circle in Bear for reports of an accident with a vehicle on fire.

While en route crews learned that the accident involved a motorcycle. First arriving reported that a vehicle was fully involved.

Initial reports from the scene indicate that the rider laid the bike down to avoid a crash and the bike slid and lodged under a car. The rider, who was wearing a helmet and body protective gear was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The reports also indicated that the rider suffered a minor burn to his leg.

Witnesses at the scene tell FSU that the rider was walking around prior to the rescue crew’s arrival. The witnesses also said that the occupants of the vehicle all made it out.

No other injuries have been reported.
