Odessa-Area House Fire Causes $500K In Damage

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating a house fire that occurred near Odessa.

Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael Chionchio of the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office said that his office is investigating Friday evening’s fire that caused heavy damage to a house.

The blaze, reported shortly before 6:00 pm, occurred in the 700 block of Bullen Drive in the Grandview Farms development near Boyd’s Corner. The Odessa Fire Company arrived on the scene with flames engulfing the rear of the two-story dwelling. Several neighboring mutual aid fire companies responded and assisted at the fire scene.

Deputy fire marshals have been called to search for the origin and cause of the blaze, which caused an estimated five hundred thousand dollars worth of damage. Two adults have been displaced. This fire remains under investigation.
