Police: Two In Custody After Multiple Carjacking Attempts, Pursuit Friday

Delaware State Police (DSP) are investigating multiple attempted carjackings that occurred in the north Wilmington area this morning.

Officials said that two suspects are in custody, and there is an extensive police presence in the area of I-95 southbound and Concord Pike. DSP is conducting an investigation and is looking into the potentially related carjacking incidents.

Here is what we have at the moment – Initial reports indicate that one of the carjackings involved multiple armed black males, possibly on Miller Road in Wilmington. DSP chased a vehicle into Pennsylvania where police blocked the road for short period. A second vehicle thought to be related was also in play as the pursuit unfolded.

Police lost sight of the vehicle near the state line. At around 10:00 an officer located a suspect vehicle on Naamans Road and gave chase. The vehicle fled southbound on I-95 before at least one suspect fled on foot in the area of Concord Pike. A suspect was taken into custody at this location. It’s not clear where the second suspect was taken into custody.
