Three Emergency Food Drive-Thru Pantries Set For Next Week

Delaware residents now have the opportunity to access food in a safe and secure manner through mobile food pantries. The Food Bank of Delaware has organized three drive-thru distributions, one in each county next week.

The mobile food pantries, part of the Food Bank of Delaware, is an effort to address the need in Delaware, where between 10% and 13% of the population suffer from food insecurity, according to published reports. This program works to provide healthy, nutritious food to families and individuals who are unable to access adequate food.

Delaware’s mobile food pantries offer nonperishables, fresh produce, dairy, beverages, and other refrigerated and frozen items, as well as personal products when available.

The three-part series of drive-thru distributions is being held in New Castle, Sussex, and Kent counties next week. There will be a distribution at Del-Tech in Stanton for New Castle County on April 21 as well as Crossroad Community Church for Sussex County on April 17 and Dover Motor Speedway for Kent County on April 19. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged for all three events.
