The Milford Police Department has arrested a Greenwood man and charged him with Robbery.
Officials said o May 7th at approximately 4:57 p.m., Milford Police Department Patrol Division was dispatched to S. Walnut Street, in the area of the Riverwalk, in reference to a robbery that just occurred.
Upon arrival, Officers made contact with the victim who appeared to have suffered an injury to their face. The investigation revealed that the victim was approached by an unknown black male who struck the victim in the head and fled with the victim’s property. The victim was transported to an area hospital where they were treated and released. A search of the area for the suspect ended with negative results.
Through the course of the investigation video surveillance was obtained which depicted the unknown black male matching the description of the suspect. Officials said on May 10th, officers located the subject and he was positively identified as Hezekiah Dawson, age 21 of Greenwood, Delaware.
Dawson was charged with Robbery 1st Degree, Hindering Prosecution, Assault 3rd Degree, and Disorderly Conduct. Dawson went before the Justice of the Peace Court and was committed to the Department of Correction on $34,100 cash bail. Dawson was ordered to appear in the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas at a later date for a preliminary hearing.
