Late Wednesday evening, rescue crews responded to a serious car accident on I-495 NB near Holly Oak.
Reports suggested that the crash involved an ejection, which resulted in the closure of the road. Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 4 was also dispatched to the scene for transport.
First responders arriving at the scene discovered that one person had been ejected from their vehicle. They immediately ordered the closure of the road and called in Trooper 4 to transport the injured individual. However, despite initial plans to transport the patient by air, it appears that they were ultimately taken to the hospital by ambulance.
The patient was then taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
We’ll update with additional details when they become available.
