Young Man In Hospital After Monday Shooting

Wilmington Police are actively investigating a shooting incident that occurred at approximately 7:42 p.m. on Monday night in the 1100 block of West 5th Street. Authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information that could assist in their ongoing investigation.

The incident unfolded when police responded to reports of gunfire on West 5th Street. Upon arrival, they discovered a 21-year-old male victim suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he is currently in stable condition.

Law enforcement officials have not yet disclosed any details regarding the motive or circumstances surrounding the shooting.
