Wilmington Police are currently conducting an investigation into a shooting incident that took place in the 1300 block of Maryland Avenue. The incident occurred at approximately 3:25 p.m., and involved two victims, a 19-year-old female and a 13-year-old male, who sustained gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to the hospital and are currently in stable condition.
The exact circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation, and the police are working to gather details surrounding the incident.
Initial reports suggest that the incident occurred in the vicinity of Maryland Avenue and Broom. Upon receiving reports of a drive-by shooting, law enforcement officers responded to the scene. On arrival the officers discovered the two individuals who had been injured by gunfire.
Emergency medical services were immediately called, and the wounded victims were transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. While the injured parties are now in stable condition, the specific nature of their injuries has not been disclosed.
