Man Charged With Kidnapping, Armed Robbery In Country Club Robbery

Delaware make an arrest in an armed robbery that took place at the Wild Quail Golf and Country Club police said Tuesday.

Officials said that 40-year-old Jason Knight of Camden, Delaware, was apprehended and arrested in connection with the crime on Friday of last week.

The incident unfolded on June 21, 2023, at approximately 11:03 a.m. when local troopers were dispatched to the Wild Quail Golf and Country Club, situated at 1 Clubhouse Drive, following a 911 call about an armed robbery. Upon their arrival, detectives learned that an unidentified man, brandishing a firearm, had accosted an 18-year-old club employee, demanding cash. The young employee resisted, attempting to escape, but the assailant restrained her and shoved her against a nearby refrigerator according to police.

Failing to locate any money, the perpetrator made off with the victim’s personal belongings before fleeing the scene on foot according to police.

In the weeks that followed, investigators of Troop 3 Robbery Division worked to unravel the case. During the investigation, Knight was developed as a suspect in the robbery

Detectives obtained warrants for Knight’s arrest on charges including Robbery First Degree (Felony), Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony), Kidnapping Second Degree (Felony), and Offensive Touching.

Earlier today Knight was apprehended during a traffic stop. He was taken into custody and transported to Troop 3 headquarters for processing.

Following his arrest, Knight was presented before the Justice of the Peace Court 2 for arraignment. He

Knight was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $55,500 cash bond.
