The Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred early this morning in New Castle.
Officials said on July 4, 2023, at approximately 2:45 a.m., an unknown black male suspect approached a 52-year-old man in the parking lot of Wells Fargo located at 1501 N Dupont Highway in New Castle.
The suspect displayed a firearm and demanded money from the victim while threatening to shoot him according to police. The victim complied, and the suspect fled from the parking lot on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. Responding troopers attempted to find the suspect in the surrounding area but were unable to locate him.
The 52-year-old victim was not injured. The suspect is described as a young black male wearing dark-colored clothing. Surveillance images and video are not yet available.
