Delaware State Police are investigating the death of 54-year-old Lorenzo Gomez-Lopez of Laurel, Delaware. Gomez-Lopez’s lifeless body was discovered on June 21, 2023, around 1:30 p.m. at the Delaware Recycling Center located at 1101 Lambson Lane in New Castle.
He was found in a processing area by employees, although he was not an employee of the recycling center. The cause of death is currently unknown, pending the results of the autopsy.
The last confirmed sighting of Gomez-Lopez was on June 18, 2023, at approximately 2 p.m. when he was seen sitting outside a residence on the 9000 block of Yew Drive in Laurel, Delaware.
However, when his family returned around 7 p.m. that evening, he was no longer there, and his whereabouts until the discovery of his body remains a mystery.
Since the beginning of the investigation, detectives have been actively pursuing leads to uncover more information about Gomez-Lopez’s activities and whereabouts leading up to his death. As the investigation continues, the Delaware State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in providing any relevant information.
