New Jersey Murder Suspect Taken Down In Delaware

A Philadelphia man has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in Camden on July 18, 2023, according to Camden County New Jersey Prosecutor Grace MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.

Myles Nicholson, 23, of Philadelphia, was charged with first-degree murder and weapons offenses in the death of Stefan Shaw, 31, of Maple Shade, New Jersey.

On Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at approximately 4:07 p.m., Camden County Police Department Officers responded to the area of 27th Street and Federal Street after hearing gunfire. Officers located a vehicle that had been shot and a victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim, Stefan Shaw, was transported to Cooper University Hospital and later pronounced deceased.

Patrol Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police (NCCPD) have assisted in the apprehension of Nicholson, who had an active warrant for first-degree murder out of Camden County, New Jersey.

On Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at 12:05 a.m., Patrol Officers were dispatched to Cranston Hall Apartments, in Prices Corner, the New Jersey officials. Police said information was received that a suspect and suspect vehicle related to a New Jersey homicide were present at the apartment complex.

Prior to the Officer’s arrival, it was reported that the suspect vehicle left and was traveling toward Kirkwood Highway. The vehicle then stopped at a local gas station at which time the Nicholson exited and attempted to enter the gas station. Officers along with a Patrolman from the Elsmere Delaware Police Department then took Nicholson into custody without incident.

Myles Nicholson was then transported to NCCPD headquarters and turned over to Camden County Investigators. He is currently awaiting extradition to New Jersey.
