On July 26, 2023, the Delaware State Police arrested Briana Diedrich, a 26-year-old resident of Ellendale, Delaware, on felony weapon charges following an assault investigation.
The incident occurred at a residence on the 20000 block of Orchard Road in Ellendale.
At around 8:55 Wednesday morning, troopers responded to a residence on the 20000 block of Orchard Road in Ellendale for reports of an assault. Upon arrival, Troopers found a 29-year-old man from Millsboro, Delaware, bleeding from a cut on his arm.
Troopers learned that Diedrich was the assailant police said Thursday. The man managed to escape and called 911 for help. He did not require medical treatment for his injury.
Diedrich, known to the victim, was taken into custody without incident. During the investigation, troopers recovered the machete used in the assault police said.
Diedrich is now facing several serious charges, including Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony, Assault Second Degree, Aggravated Menacing, and Terroristic Threatening.
After being arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, Diedrich was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $33,000 cash bond.
