U.S. Mail Carrier Robbed Wednesday In New Castle

On Wednesday, July 19, 2023, the New Castle County Division of Police received a report of a robbery involving a United States Postal Service (USPS) employee.

Patrol Officers were dispatched to the Georgetown Village Apartments in New Castle where they connected with an adult female victim who was identified as a USPS mail carrier. The victim recounted the incident, stating that she was in the middle of her mail delivery duties when she was suddenly approached by two black males.

The suspects grabbed the victim by her arms and forcibly took USPS property and parcels from her possession police said Thursday. They then fled the scene.

As of now, the suspects are described as two adult black males, potentially in their twenties. They were observed wearing blue jeans, black sweatshirts with hoods, and ski masks.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police have taken over the investigation. The case is now classified as an active and ongoing investigation as law enforcement works to identify the suspects.
