In the early hours of Tuesday morning, an incident unfolded at a Wawa convenience store located at 400 Wilson Road in Wilmington.
The Delaware State Police swiftly responded to a 911 call reporting an armed robbery that had taken place around 3:15 a.m.
According to preliminary reports, the robbery was carried out by two male suspects. These individuals, both described as young black males dressed in dark-colored clothing entered the store and quickly escalated the situation by brandishing firearms police said Tuesday. Threatening the store employees, the suspects demanded access to the safe and cash registers according to police.
The suspects managed to escape on foot with an undisclosed sum of cash.
No injuries were reported as a result of the armed robbery.
