Around 12:40 on Thursday morning, an incident led to a response by rescue crews from the Claymont Fire Company, New Castle County Paramedics along with New Castle County Police
Those responders along with Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 4 responded to the unit block of Jill Court, the Holly Oak Apartments, in Wilmington for reports of a shooting.
Initial reports from the scene indicated the serious nature of the incident. A man, described to be in his twenties, was discovered at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds according to the reports.
The decision was made to transport the injured man to a trauma center via Trooper 4, which arrived at a landing zone near the scene shortly after the initial call.
The man was transported by air in very serious condition according to the initial reports from the scene.
As of 3:15 on Thursday afternoon, the police department had not yet issued an official press release regarding the incident.
