Officials said at approximately 9:48 p.m. crews were dispatched to the area in response to a report of a pedestrian being struck by an automobile.

Crews from the Five Points Fire Company along with New Castle County Paramedics arrived to find a lone male individual lying on the roadway. Preliminary information suggests that the individual, believed to be around 30 years old, had been hit by a sedan, resulting in significant injuries.

TCrews immediately administered critical medical attention to the injured pedestrian before transport.
