Last week the Maryland State Police responded to a reported stabbing that occurred in In a recent incident in Cecil County, Maryland.
At approximately 10:45 a.m., troopers from the Maryland State Police North East Barrack were dispatched to the unit block of Old School House Road in Port Deposit, Maryland, following a report of a physical disturbance.
Upon their arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers discovered a 38-year-old man suffering from an apparent stab wound. The man was subsequently transported by ambulance to ChristianaCare Christiana Hospital in Delaware for medical treatment of the injuries.
Officials said according to their preliminary findings, it was determined that the man had arrived at the residence in the unit block of Old School House Road and forcibly entered through the rear sliding-glass door. Inside the residence, the man allegedly engaged in an assault on multiple individuals. During the course of this altercation, it appears that the individual was stabbed by one of the occupants of the house police said.
Crime scene technicians from the Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division were called to the scene. In addition to the troopers from the North East Barrack and the Criminal Enforcement Division Northern Section who initially responded, there was support from K-9 units dispatched by the Elkton Police Department and the Maryland Natural Resources Police. Deputies from the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office, as well as personnel from Cecil County emergency medical services, also responded to the scene to provide assistance.
The investigation into this incident remains ongoing as authorities work to gather more information about the circumstances surrounding the incident officials said.
Charges related to this incident are pending consultation with the Cecil County State’s Attorney’s Office.
