Dover Officer Involved In Head-On Collison Wednesday Morning, One To Trauma Center

Just prior to 8:00 Wednesday morning rescue crews responded to the intersection of S Little Creek Road and Barrister Place for an accident involving a Dover Police Officer and another vehicle.

Initial reports indicate that it was a head-on collision, and there are indications that the driver of the other vehicle was trapped.

Rescue crews from the Dover Fire Department responded to the scene along with Kent County paramedics and Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 4.

The driver of the other vehicle is currently en route to Christiana Hospital by air in serious condition.

Photos from the scene show the officer assisting at the accident prior to the medical crew’s arrival.

Expect the road to be closed for an extended period of time due to this being an officer-involved accident.

This is a developing story.
