U.S. Marshals have captured another escapee In Chester County, Pennsylvania.
Officials said agents successfully recaptured a fugitive who had escaped from a Missouri prison earlier this summer. The escapee, Mario Che-Tiul, aged 34, had been on the run since June when he and five other inmates violently attacked two correctional officers and fled from the Barry County Jail in Missouri.
On Thursday, U.S. Marshals received information leading them to an apartment building in the unit block of Gap Newport Pike in Avondale, Pennsylvania. Acting on this information, agents found Che-Tiul inside an apartment and took him into custody without incident.
Prior to Che-Tiul’s capture, the other five escaped inmates had already been apprehended by law enforcement authorities. However, Che-Tiul had managed to evade capture until Thursday.
Che-Tiul, who was originally facing felony child molestation charges, now faces additional charges related to his escape as well.
Che-Tiul is the second high-profile escapee captured in recent weeks.
