On a Tuesday afternoon, just before 1:00, emergency responders responded to a residence located in the 100 block of Morris Drive in Dover for reports of a stabbing.

Reports from the scene indicated that a man had suffered a stab wound to the face by an unknown assailant. First State Update was later told that the injury occurred when a folding knife was thrown at the man.

With the knife still embedded in the man’s face, the emergency crews transported him to Kent General Hospital, where medical professionals began assessing and treating his injuries. Given the severity of the situation, a decision was made to airlift the victim to Christian Hospital, and LifeNet was utilized for transport.

The Dover Police Department is investigating the incident.
