Police: Two Charged With Selling Large Amounts Of Fentanyl

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Safe Streets Task Force have charged 27-year-old Aaron Barrett of Wilmington and 53-year-old Hayward Miller of Wilmington following a felony drug investigation.

Officials said during the month of September, detectives followed up on information about two suspects selling large amounts of fentanyl throughout New Castle County. Detectives were able to identify the suspects as Aaron Barrett and Hayward Miller police said Monday. Following the investigation, a search warrant was executed on the suspect’s apartment.

During the search, detectives located 775 lethal doses of fentanyl, crack cocaine, and a handgun. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident and transported to New Castle County Police headquarters.

Hayward Miller was charged with one felony count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, one felony count of manufacture/deliver/possession with intent to deliver in a tier 3 quantity, one felony count of possession of a controlled substance in a tier 3 quantity, one felony count of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, one felony count of manufacture/deliver/possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, one felony count of conspiracy in the second degree, one misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled counterfeit substance, and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia not related to personal use. He was arraigned by the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and held in lieu of $83,000.00 cash bail.

Aaron Barrett was charged with one felony count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, one felony count of manufacture/deliver/possession with intent to deliver in a tier 3 quantity, one felony count of possession of a controlled substance in a tier 3 quantity, one felony count of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, one felony count of manufacture/deliver/possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, one felony count of conspiracy in the second degree, and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia not related to personal use. He was arraigned by the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and held in lieu of $67,500.00 cash bail.
