Wilmington Police have charged an individual in connection with a double shooting incident that occurred in early September. The incident occurred on September 1 at around 1:51 p.m. in the 700 block of West 4th Street according to police.
Officials said upon the officer’s arrival at the scene, they discovered a 45-year-old female gunshot victim who was transported to the hospital in stable condition. Additionally, officers learned that a 54-year-old male gunshot victim had already been transported to a hospital in stable condition.
Detective Douglas Rivell of the Criminal Investigations Division was assigned to the investigation. During the investigation, Rivell identified 20-year-old Quincey Thomas as a suspect in the incident police said late Thursday. Subsequently, warrants for Thomas’s arrest were issued. On October 19, law enforcement executed a search warrant in the unit block of West 23rd Street and took Thomas into custody.
In addition to the existing warrants for his arrest, Thomas now faces a series of charges related to the September shooting incident. These charges include two counts of Assault in the First Degree, two counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, and Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon.
Following his arrest, Thomas was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a cash-only bail amounting to $215,000.
