Man Released On Unsecured Bond Now Wanted In Double Stabbing

New Castle City Police are investigating a double stabbing that occurred Tuesday afternoon.

Officials said that they have identified the suspect involved in Tuesday’s incident as Dimitri Taylor, a 39-year-old resident of Wilmington. The incident occurred in the 400 block of W 7th Street, near a liquor store at around 3:30 pm.

New Castle City Police responded to reports of a double stabbing. The victims, two men in their 20s, were attacked following what is believed to be a road rage incident at the intersection of Washington Street and W 7th Street in New Castle City according to police.

One victim sustained multiple stab wounds to the back, while the other was stabbed in the neck. Both victims were transported to the trauma center and are currently in stable condition.

Dimitri Taylor, the identified suspect, was last seen fleeing the scene in a white Hyundai Genesis. Authorities have issued a warning that he should be considered armed and dangerous.

In April Taylor was charged with Felony assault in an unrelated incident. In that case, which occurred at a medical complex located at 700 Prides Crossing in Newark, Taylor was involved in an altercation with a 71-year-old male victim police said at the time. The incident occurred when both individuals attempted to park in the same spot.

After a verbal dispute, the victim sought another parking space, but Taylor pursued the victim’s vehicle around the parking lot, even striking the driver’s side window police said. The victim, in an attempt to evade further confrontation, parked separately and informed Taylor of his intention to call the police. In response, Taylor physically assaulted the victim, causing him to fall and sustain a head injury. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Taylor later turned himself in at Troop 6, where he faced charges of Assault First Degree (Felony). He was arraigned and released on a $10,000 unsecured bail.

Law enforcement is actively seeking information on Taylor’s whereabouts.
