Newark Police Charge Middletown Man With Lewdness and Indecent Exposure

On October 14, 2023, Newark Police responded to a report of an indecent exposure incident at the Shoppes at Louviers on Louviers Drive according to Lt. Andrew Rubin.

Rubin said officers detained a male subject, identified as Patrick Ellison, 27, of Middletown. The reporting person was unavailable to speak with officers at that time, and Ellison was subsequently released.

Later in the day, a Newark Police Officer managed to contact the reporting person, who provided a detailed account of the incident. According to the reporting person, while driving in the rear of the business, they witnessed a male subject exposing his genitals and performing a lewd act. The reporting person’s friend, who also witnessed the incident, confirmed the suspect’s identity as Patrick Ellison said Rubin.

On October 19, 2023, authorities took Patrick Ellison into custody at his residence without incident. He was then transported to Newark Police headquarters where he was charged with two counts of Indecent Exposure Second Degree and two counts of Lewdness.

Ellison appeared before Justice of the Peace Court #2 via video. During this appearance, he was granted release on $2,000 unsecured bail.

Rubin said that it was discovered that he was wanted in Pennsylvania. so he was transferred into the custody of the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in Wilmington where he will await extradition.
