Police Action Ends With Vehicle Submerged In Water At Bombay Hook

Just after 11:00 on a Monday night, a vehicle rolled several times and landed in the water at the Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge in Smyrna.

At approximately 11:04 PM on a Monday night, emergency responders were dispatched to the scene of a traffic collision on Whitehall Neck Road. Crews learned that the incident involved a vehicle rollover that resulted in the vehicle submerging in the water. Two occupants were reported to be inside the vehicle at the time of the incident, however, both were able to get out. The reports indicated that both occupants suffered injuries as a result of the accident.

FSU has viewed a video of the vehicle driving at a high rate of speed down Whitehall Neck Road with several patrol vehicles close behind. The details surrounding the circumstances leading up to the incident and the nature of the police action are not known at this time.

At least one of the occupants was transported to an area hospital.
