Police Say Three Teens Shot In Laurel, Suspects At Large

Officials with the Laurel Police Department said that three teens were shot Sunday afternoon.

W 7th Street between West Street and Center Street remains closed, and is expected to remain closed for several hours police said just after 5:00 Sunday. Residents in the area are not being allowed to return to their home while the area is locked down. Police said this incident is a confirmed shooting investigation, with three gunshot victims. All three victims are males in their teens. Their conditions and identities are being withheld pending contact with next-of-kin. The suspects remain at large according to police.

The investigation is being turned over to the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit, as is standard practice for this type of investigation. The Laurel Police Department works hand-in-hand with the Delaware State Police, and is assisting in full capacity with their investigation officials said. The Delaware State Police PIO will be responsible for updates from this point forward.

A fourth teen was injured by a police K-9 during the incident but did not require medical transport according to initial reports.
